In this Guided Refuge Meditation you create – by means of guided visualization and your own fantasy – a Safe Sanctuary Space inside your own mind when you can go to take refuge.
During this mediation, you can put everything on pause, completely relax in this safe sanctuary space. You’re on a little mental holiday, taking a moment of refuge in a place of pristine stillness and holiness.
Interestingly enough, in medieval times in England, churches/cathedrals were considered sanctuaries where even the prosecuted were immune to arrest.
There’s more to it. Such a holy place, like cathedrals, temples, mosques et cetera, are the houses of God. And that’s symbolical because actually everything is God ánd the house of God. So you are safe and taking refuge not only within this holy sanctuary but also in yourself. In your body temple. In your physical house and nation-state (if you have those). In the house of humanity that we call planet Earth. And in the universe and multiverse we live in.
That’s how safe life gets. You’re in one big sanctuary, one big house of God, that has been built for You!
